Stop Thief!

Ahhh... I hate life lessons.
Jack's bike was stolen last night. Man, is he bummed. He's 8 and just doesn't understand why someone would take his bike. He feels personally attacked and I am aching for his hurt.
As I drove the boys to school, I had to play the Mom Role. Started out with a comment like, "This really sucks. It hurts to have someone take your stuff." And then I closed with, "I know you won't ever hurt others this way."
I am really pissed off right now.
(apologies for the language, but that is a cleaned up version.)
I'm going to take my bike back t'nite and get him a new one.
Make sure you lock up your goods, friends.

The world is full of shitheads for sure. I mean who steals a child's bike? Likely another child - but hopefully his or her parents ask "where did this bike come from?" Although I wouldn't get my hopes up, the apple never falls far from the tree.

Hopefully the first commenter is right, and it will show back up at your house in the next few days. Kids are so mean! Poor Jack.

I have been on patrol since I heard. Yesterday, there was a close apprehension of a carless 20 something year old. Lucky for that him, the take down did not occur, due to wrong colors. I'm watching that age group closely.

That sucks! I am so mad and so ready to take down whoever had the nerve to do that.

I am so sorry!

You taking your bike back to get him one seriously brought a tear (or TWO) to my eyes. You are the best momma out there.

That sucks! When I was growing up EVERY bike we ever owned got stolen. I think some white trash person just sat and watched for us to get a new bike, so their kids could start riding it. You're a good mom to take your back... ONe thing about living on a hil...not a lot of bike riding going on here...what goes down the hill has to come back up.
