It's a DOWNER...

Currently coming down from our holiday highs...Garland; in-house twinklinglights; decor; Christmas cards, the tree's (yep...plural). Down from our 3 week sugar rush. Even a balloon that lost it's string in my living room on Kourtney's birthday- Nov. 26th- came down on it's own on my birthday, Dec. 31. And now, it's time to write down resolutions. It's all going, coming, falling down.

The garland surprises me with it's dust collecting abilities... I just don't dust once the garland has been arranged.

Twinkling lights aren't twinkling so much. I think I've had some of these strands since Joel and I first celebrated X-Mas 13 and a half years ago.

Darn TaiPan and it's superb new decorations....they make me dispise the boxes of holiday adornments I store in the basement. My junk just doesn't match the new, crazy, fun ways people bejewel their homes in 2007-2008.

The board housing seasonal sentiments from family and friends will be removed in mere moments, but a heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of you who remembered us on your mailing lists. I love getting mail. Mine went out a tad late due to last minute orders we were filling for "Saying It Simply". Just couldn't tell anyone no on a special gift they had to have made...

Our main tree is tilting precariously to the right. Thank Heaven for the wall steadily holding it. Sad to take this bad boy down. I finally got it decorated the way I wanted it on Dec. 23. Yep, Mom, I moved ornaments the kids had put on. They still hang from branches, but I, like you, could see a better place for them to dangle. (I did this while jack, luke and kately slumbered....) I did not fix the trees the boys had decorated in their room. Can't say I didn't want to, but I let them be...

Our sugar intake has been CRAZY...anyone know where leftovers can be donated? We're talking a pantry full of goodies.

Oooooh the balloon-my personally labeled youth representative. I knew that silly floater would descend on my big day. Good-bye 33... HELLo 34. Actually, it was a great day. To each of you who remembered me, I love you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Do you write your resolutions down? I am having each person in my fam make goals t'nite. I am going to print the lists and hang them in a central locale in our home. I want us all to help each other reach high-----I am hoping that they will not be fleeting aspirations, but a serious "family bonder" as we not only improve ourselves but we actively help each other become better. A lofty goal...but I have to try something.

That's about it for my Downer Day. I best get down to work... k

A great day for UP!!!

Today is the day!!!! Christmas lights up. Christmas tree up! Spirit's up! Turn the music up and let's get busy. (Now. If only I could wake Joel UP!)

It does seem a bit early in the season to be doing this. My reasoning is legit, though. Our Halloween decor was pushed to the side because I was in high gear to complete orders and prepare for a craft show and Open houses. I am not letting it happen with Christmas. I want my house to twinkle, because I will probably be covered in sawdust and paint.

I hope our festive feelings will carry over to you as you drive by rather than bring a groan. I tinseled early for my kids. I want this season to be full of magic. I will be busy with the biz. Christmas orders are coming in each day. And I don't want to be asked on December 23rd, "Can we put up the tree today?" If I don't haul out the holly right now, it will happen. I know me.
